Trauma-Informed Care

Compassionate support for the impact of past experiences on your mind, body, and soul.

Trauma-informed therapy graphic by Heidy Milena Davila AMFT exploring emotional overwhelm, anxiety, nervous system stress, hypervigilance, and healing in California.

Trauma does not always look extreme or visible.

It can affect more than we often realize. It shapes the way we think, feel, relate to others, and move through the world. These effects aren’t always obvious, and they are not a sign of weakness.

Trauma does not discriminate in how it controls and lives in the brain.

My approach is rooted in safety, trust, and collaboration. Together, we explore how past experiences may be showing up in your present, and support your healing in a way that honors your pace and your story.

Together, therapy may involve exploring:

  • emotional overwhelm and burnout

  • hyper-independence and difficulty relying on others

  • anxiety and nervous system stress

  • perfectionism and pressure

  • relationship patterns and boundaries

  • cultural, family, or first-generation dynamics

  • emotional disconnection or numbness

Trauma compromises our ability to engage with others by replacing patterns of connection with patterns of protection
